MOODY CANDLELIT COUPLES BOUDOIR SESSION IN HOME STUDIO

So excited to check off another 2021 business goal!
I finally did it. I photographed my first couples boudoir session and, y’all, it did NOT disappoint. This shoot was the perfect balance of heat and sweet. By the end of it, we were all three flushed and giggling!
I knew I wanted some moodier vibes for this couples session, so I invested in some darker sheets and candles for the studio. I’m extremely happy with how the whole thing came together. I’m starting to have quite the collection for us to utilize during shoots!
When Gabby and Derek arrived, we first took some time to chat and sip on mimosas. I always like to make sure everyone is comfortable, shaking off any nerves, and excited to get creative! I was fully prepared to help these two ease into the vulnerability of this shoot, but was genuinely surprised when they jumped right in. It helps that I’ve photographed these two before, but still. It makes an incredible difference when you trust your photographer, and you can clearly see in these images the trust that was permeating through the studio. It makes me very happy to know that I can create a safe environment and help put my clients at ease.
A boudoir session by yourself can be extremely liberating, but to be in a boudoir setting with your significant other is a whole other experience. The way Gabby and Derek tenderly cuddled, touched, and held each other was so beautiful. My favorite moments were the ones when they forgot that I was there, even for just a split second. It’s just them, being together. The one word that kept coming to mind throughout the whole shoot was cherished. Just look at how they gaze into each other’s eyes. *swoon
